As you may notice, tonight's weekly ELA HW packet does not include a writing component.

Instead students are asked to complete VV. 2 Formatting Street Addresses and JJ Pronouns on language arts IXL.

Students should have many components of JJ Pronouns completed from previous in-class work time. I asked the students to please let me know if they have forgotten their usernames and passwords and I can get them to them tomorrow in class. Additionally, if computer access at home is unavailable please let me know as well!

-Possessive Pronouns 
-Relative Pronouns and Relative Adverbs

To address this information in chunks we have been studying the first 4 topics and will be testing  on Monday, December 16th. Both 4G and 4T will have their study guides over the weekend to prepare!

Here are the spelling words this week.

To increase difficulty as I have seen students continue to do quite well in spelling, the test will be now out of 24 points and there will only be opportunities for 2 points over. Students have heard of this change and I will reiterate this tomorrow! So this weeks test will cover 1-24 with bonus opportunities for #'s 25 and 26. (Test Fri. Dec. 13th)

Weekly Update: 

Monday December 2nd- Friday December 6th: 

• Tuesday: Trimester 1 Report Cards go home in the Take Home Tuesday
  • Some students have been selectively discarding activities and assessments before they get into your hands. If you could discuss with your student the importance of sharing their academic progress (good and bad) that would be appreciated. Ms. Trahan and I never want there to be any surprises. 
• Thursday: No Tardies for Semester 1 Dress Down
• Friday: First Friday Mass on December 6th (Dress Uniform!) 
  • Feast of St. Nicholas
  • Many of our ladies were lacking sweaters last month. A sweater is part of the dress uniform and it is getting cold, please make sure to send your student to school with their sweater) 

In Ms. G's Class: 

• Friday spelling test per usual! I am happy that we are back into a regular routine now that we have full weeks. 
• Before Thanksgiving we came to the end of unit 2 for ELA. We will be splitting up the unit assessment over the course of this week and next in order to not overwhelm the students or our schedule. 
• We are beginning a new unit in science as well, Waves, Sound, & Communication!

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up about this weeks Grammar test on Friday. This test is much less dense and only consists of 4 lessons from the topic on Nouns. 

1) Common and Proper Nouns
2) Singular and Plural Nouns
3) Irregular and Plural Nouns
4) Possessive Nouns 

4G has their review day on Wednesday
-Packet will go home Wednesday for at home review and RETURN to school on Friday 
4T has their review day on Thursday
-Packet will go home Thursday for at home review and RETURN to school on Friday.
