Being a good friend in 4th Grade:
Unfortunately, last week Ms. Trahan and I noticed that many students were not being kind to each other in the lunchroom and on the playground. More importantly some of this 'drama' has bled into the classroom which is why we need to address this. Please know that Ms. Trahan and I believe that all students should feel accepted and cared for as a student and classmate at St. Joseph School. To deal with these issues we have started to teach social rules for being a nice friend, and explicitly teach positive language we can use when we disagree with each other.
We ask that you as parents/guardians take some extra time this week to mention the importance of kindness and how important it is even if we are not best friends with each other.
Have a great rest of your week and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
