Electricity Study Guide:
  1. Static Electricity
    • Happens when + and - charges are NOT balanced.
  2. Electric Current
    • Electric charge moving
  3. Series Circuit
    • Electric charges only flow in one path
      • ‘One out all out’
  4. Parallel Circuit
    • Electric charges flows in 2+ paths
      • ‘If one out, still lit’
  5. Magnetism
    • It’s a force that acts on moving electric charge and magnetic materials that are near a magnet
  6. Magnetic Field
    • An invisible force that goes out in all directions
  7. Electromagnet
    • A coil of wire with many loops which an electric current passes.
  8. Resistance/Insulator
    • A material that does NOT allow electric charges to flow through easily.
  9. Conductor
    • A material that allows electric charges to flow through easily.
  10. Closed vs. Open Circuit
    • Closed: Electricity can flow!
      2.
      Open: Electricity can’t flow!

Additionally!
-An effect of Earth's magnetic field that can sometimes be seen in the sky is called the Northern Lights.
-Metal is an example of a conductor.
-Rubber is a insulator.
-When two objects have different electric charges they attract each other.
-When two objects have the same electric charges they repel each other
-A machine that produces electricity by moving a magnet back and forth is a generator.
